Functional Analysis and Operator Theory South Africa

South Africa has a strong and broadly interested community of academics working in functional analysis and related fields. This website was established to communicate upcoming functional analysis activities in South Africa and list past events (since 2020). We also provide a list of active functional analysts in the country. The initiative originates from the Functional Analysis Steering Committee that was founded in 2020 with the intention to coordinate functional analysis activities in South Africa and that has been the driving force behind the Functional Analysis and Operator Theory South Africa (FAOTSA) workshops.
